Mississauga Re-Opens Outdoor Pools
Now that summer is upon us, we look for ways to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Because we live in a city that is surrounded by water, kind of, we all learn how to swim or at least splash around. The City of Mississauga has re-opened 6 outdoor pools this summer. Not all of us have the luxury of having a pool in our backyard or in our condo building. So, this is the next best thing.
The Lions Club of Credit Valley re-opened the outdoor pool in Port Credit under a new name of "Harold E. Kennedy Memorial Park", David Ramsey Outdoor Pool re-opened in the Sheridan Homelands neighbourhood, plus 4 others.
All the facilities were closed last summer as they underwent a $24 million dollar renovation. Half of the repair bill was covered by the federal-provincial Infrastructure Stimulus fund program.
Let's get out and enjoy this wonderful time of year. If you don't know how to swim, this is an opportune time for you to learn and stay cool at the same time. Check out the schedule for swimming lessons at the individual locations or with Mississauga Parks and Recreation schedule.
Have some fun this summer.
